You NEED To Try These!

 I present to you…

YES! You heard me!

These five tinted moisturizers are by far the best that I have owned (and I own my fair share of them… 15 total! Yikes!)

So lets go down the line… Shall we?

Dr. Brandt – Flexitone BB Cream
This BB cream does exactly what it says it does. There is only one tube you can buy, but the magic is in the formula! It’s made to adjust to your skin tone as soon as it touches our face. The cream starts off as a grayish color, then once you start to rub it on your skin it adjusts to your shade. I don’t know how accurate the color ends up being, as sometimes I feel it ends up being too dark on my skin. For the most part though, it’s pretty close! That’s one of the reasons I made it my #5 must have. The second is that the SPF in it is pretty strong, and like sunscreen, if you get it too close to your eyes… it burns.
Wana try it? This can be purchased at www.Sephora.com

Etude House – BB Magic Cream
So I’m a sucker for Asian products… more specifically cosmetics. This BB is by far one of the best that I’ve ever owned. It’s a Korean brand, and the only down side to this BB is that there’s a VERY LIMITED number of skin shades. I believe the darkest one is a Medium shade. The texture of this cream is pretty amazing. It’s not too thick, but it does have build-able coverage. It still allows your skin to breathe, and stays on for hours at a time.
You can find this brand from Ebay.com or from www.EtudeHouse.com

NARS – Tinted Moisturizer
This tinted moisturizer is one of the best that I’ve tried. It’s creamy, sheer, but still makes my skin look alive! It’s not gloppy or thick, and doesn’t have the strong smell of sunscreen as most other tinted moisturizers, BBs and CCs have. I will say that for the amount of time I’ve owned it, my skin hasn’t broken out or changed as it does with most products that go on my face. Definitely will be on my “to buy again” list!
You can buy this from www.sephora.com

Laura Mercier – Tinted Moisturizer SPF20
This tinted moisturizer is at the top of my list, especially for these hot summer days!!! The formula is sheer, and does not have build-able coverage, but is by far the best to have on hot summer days. Not to be gross, but I could be sweating profusely and it will NOT budge. The SPF inside of it doesn’t give the, “Hey! I have sunscreen!” smell to it, meaning it’s okay for around the eyes. These tubes have multiple colors and shade options to them (12 total) meaning there is a BIG chance you’ll find that perfect shade!!! They also have an oil free option for you guys out there who are prone to breakouts or who already have oily skin and are tying to stray from other oily products.
I purchased mine from Naimies in LA, but you can purchase these at sephora.com as well.

Hard Candy – CC Correction Creme
And the number one tinted moisturizer to purchase is from Hard Candy! I made this the #1 because it’s super affordable, has AMAZING coverage for it’s price, and has an awesome pearled finish to it! I wore it and was super impressed with the pay off. Unfortunately there are only 3 or 4 shades (the typical fair, light, medium and dark) but for those who can purchase these and can match youselves; you won’t be disappointed. The coverage is medium, so the consistency of the creme is a little thick but not so thick that you cannot easily blend it into your skin. I usually set my moisturizers with powder, but this finish is just too gorgeous that I just pass up the powder and just spritz my face with setting spray. Everyone who can match themselves to the shades they offer, NEEDS to own this CC cream!!!!!You can purchase this CC cream at your local Wal-Mart location

OH MY LASH X (Transferred from Buzznet)

UPDATE:
DUE TO THE CURRENT NEW MANAGEMENT BY MIKE HERNANDEZ, CREATOR OF TRUE OR FALSE LASHES, I NO LONGER SUPPORT NOR RECOMMEND OH MY LASH. THIS COMPANY WAS GREAT WHILE IT LASTED BUT NOW IS SHOWING SIGNS OF TERRIBLE BUSINESS AND SERVICES THAT WAS TRUE OR FALSE. I WILL WRITE AN UPDATE TO FILL YOU IN ON THE STORY.

————————————–————

So as many may already know…

i LOVE my lashes.

Not just LOVE, lashes… I absolutely NEED them in my life, which is why as soon as I discover a new lash company I jump right on it.

My Instagram friend Kim (@BAUMZY) has recently launched an eyelash company named Oh My, Lash! (@ohmylashx) that uses the hair from mink when its brushed off. Pretty much, you have lashes that are 100% hair, soft, cruelty free, and look super natural and are not heavy on the lids.

Oh My, Lash! - REVIEW photo 1

I was a little hesitant as to the only mink hair eyelash company that I LOOOVE is Velour Lashes (@VelourLashesOfficial) and was hard for me to think that I could actually find another company that MIGHT actually replace them.

Here’s the scoop on OH MY, LASH:

They currently come in 5 styles…

NOT PICTURED: The Madonna

These are currently the only 5 styles they have to offer, but are soon to release more based off Disney Princess characters, with names like “Strike 12,” “Eye Of The Tiger,” and “Tongue-Tied” to name a few. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out which princesses those belong to.

The lashes themselves are immaculate. All the lashes I recieved were free of any flaws (as we all saw I had with the @TrueOrFalseLashes) and they come in a super cute, yet super sturdy box. The design is cute, and simple, not too over done.

The pricing for these are also great, very affordable. Most mink lashes run anywhere from $29-$60, but these run anywhere from $14-$20. How more affordable can they be? Well, rumor has it that the princess collection that is to be launched will be anywhere from $6-$10! But like Adele once said, “Rumor Has It…”

Shipping was also prompt. I ordered my lashes on a Friday, received them on Saturday! Talk about customer service!

All in all… I may have found a new favorite place to buy mink lashes, although my options are still always open 🙂

I highly recommend you at least try buying one pair and seeing for yourself how great these things are!

Face Contouring (Tutorial)

We all have seen it lately; Instagram makeup “guru’s” who swear up and down that contouring is a “face” saver. Manipulate makeup and make it seem like I have cheek bones? A thinner jaw line? Is that possible?

Problem a lot of “normal” women face is that they’re not trained like these Instagram girls, or they’re not as patient to perform a “trial and error” on themselves.

Well I’m here to (hopefully) save the day!

The following images are the steps I take to achieve that fake cheek bone look. Not too hard, but READER BEWARE: lots of patience is required. You’re NOT going to perfect this in one try. Practice makes proficient.

What You’ll Need:
1. Foundation Or Tinted Moisturizer
(I used a tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier)
2. Concealer 2-3 shades lighter that your normal skin tone.
(I used Cinema Secrets foundation)
3. Contour Color (I used a dark concealer wheel from RCMA)
4: Concealer Brush
5: Makeup Sponge
6: Duster/Fan brush
7: Setting powder (I used Ben Nye’s Banana Powder)
8: Blush and other desired products to finish the look.

Step #1

Prep your face by adding your foundation or tinted moisturizer to your face. Make sure that it’s a thin application, because we’re going to be adding A LOT of concealer later.

Step #2

Add the lighter concealer to your brush. I personally don’t use the brush directly inside the pot; I like to scoop the product out with a makeup spatula and add to my palette. Stops germs from forming that way. (Germaphobe much?)

Step #3
PicsArt_1376640367201
Start from the side of your nostril, and bring the brush upwards and sideways, aiming towards the outer corner of your eye. Then, starting a little below the inner corner of your eye, bring the brush down meeting the outside of your nostril again. You should have created a “V” at this point. Start to “paint” inside of the “V” you just created.

Step #4″

Apply the “V” to the other side of the face. On the image above, that is labeled #1. We are now going to apply concealer to the forehead. Not all over, Just the center where the forehead and bridge of the nose meet. That is labeled #2, and also to the chin which is shown as #3. And finally to the bridge of the nose (#4.)

Step #5

Scoop out your desired colored shade. The darker the color the deeper the contour and the more patience is needed. I used a lighter shade of brown because in this tutorial I want just a subtle contour for the daytime.

Step #6

Make a fish face! Ahaha. No but seriously; for beginners this helps show where the hallows of your cheeks are and will be your guide to know where to apply that darker color of concealer.

Step #7:

At this point add the darker concealer to the areas of your face you’d like to slim down. Other than the hallows of my cheeks, I applied to the temples, my jaw line, and the sides of my nose to make it seem thinner.

Step #8:

Blend blend blend! With your makeup sponge, PAT and DAB to blend the colors out. DO NOT RUB the colors. You won’t get the same effect and frankly it’ll just become streaky. THIS TAKES PRACTICE AND PATIENCE. You may not be able to perfectly blend the colors together the first time. Practice practice practice!

Step #9

Using your setting powder and fan brush, dust the powder to the highlighted areas of the face (see step #4 to see which areas those are.) Don’t pack on the color, just dust it on. I also recommend NOT using a white HD powder. You’ll look ghostly in photos.

Finishing Touches:

At this point you can add the finishing touches such as blush, powdered highlight, mascara, lipstick, etc…

Recent Drug Store Purchases (Review)

NOTE: This Review is a copy from my ORIGINAL blog, DANIxDANGER.BUZZNET.COM

Recent Drug Store Purchases review photo 1

Sorry for the Hiatus everyone!
But I am back with another review 🙂

A few days back (well, almost a week ago I would say) I stopped by my local Walmart and purchased 3 new products, which are shown above.

Product One – Milani “Infinite Liquid Eyeliner” in 05 Everlast

Recent Drug Store Purchases review photo 2

I have been in a recent search for a GREAT black liquid eyeliner. I didn’t want to pay high end cost (since I’m going to phamEXPO next weekend and figure I’d get a great deal there) so I ran across this. First off, the pigmentation on this is to DIE for! It’s super jet black, and does give the “glossy” and “wet” look I was going for. A++ in that category.

BUT.. I have worked with liquid liners that had long wands, but because the formula for this liner is so thick and globby it’s really hard to use. Yes, it is a liquid liner but the consistancy of it kind of reminds me of tar. I have even tried to thin it out by applying both ELF Lock and Seal to it and MAC Fix+ spray to it. It only made it worse.

It takes AGES for it to dry up. Once I’m done applying it on my lids, I have to keep my eyes closed for about 2 minutes before it’s semi dry. It’s also a pain to remove. After I’m done washing my face I have a lot of residue left on my lids.

Long story short… it’s extremely hard to work with. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Product Two – Olay Total Effects 7 “CC Cream” in Light to Medium

Recent Drug Store Purchases review photo 3

I was also interested of trying this whole new CC Cream thing that every major makeup guru has raved about. I know that Clinique has one, Dr. Jart, and Smashbox (to name a few) but I stumbled across this one by accident.

It reminds me a lot of the Olay Definity pump, which I also own, and to be honest… I can’t tell the difference between the two. The CC is light in texture and goes on the face smoothly, but it’s really not “color correcting” at all. It’s JUST a tinted moisturizer. I was a little disappointed since I had spent $22 on it, when I COULD’VE just spent and extra $15 and got the better one from Clinique or some other high end brand that I had tested in store in the past and found them to have better results.

I do love it though, don’t get me wrong. Although it wasn’t EXACTLY what I was looking for, I will say it’s perfect for days I don’t want heavy makeup and light coverage. I just don’t know if once it runs out if it has impressed me enough to buy it again. We’ll see.

Product Three – Physicians Formula “Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Powder” in Light/Medium

Recent Drug Store Purchases review photo 4

This BB powder has A LOT of potential.. There’s just a few flaws.

The packaging is really cute, but as soon as I opened it up the pan containing the powder fell right out (as shown in the photo above)! I guess it’s not an issue if you’re the type that likes to de-pot all your makeup, but it kind of made me upset that something BRAND NEW just fell apart. whatever, I just super glued it back in place.

The powder itself is sheer, not made for full coverage which is okay for me because I could use it to set my foundations and concealers. It has a pearlized finish to it, which is okay, but something I wasn’t really expecting.

I wish they also had more colors than just “Light,” “Light/Medium,” etc. The color of the powder is for pink undertones, and I’m a yellow undertone. I would suggest that they have the powders numbered, so that they cater to both pink and yellow undertones.

I have been using it daily, and so far it’s perfect for summer. I might actually go back and buy this a second time.
